A man has died following a single-vehicle crash on Auckland’s southern motorway during rush hour this morning.
Emergency services were called to the northbound lanes near the Te Irirangi on-ramp at around 7.50am after a vehicle veered off the motorway and struck the left-hand barrier.
Police said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit attended, and enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
The incident caused significant delays for morning commuters, but all lanes have since reopened.
