Police appreciate there is ongoing interest in the crash in Waiuku yesterday afternoon that claimed the lives of three people.
Police confirm the victims were an adult and two children who sadly died at the scene on Masters Road.
The families have asked Police to convey a message on their behalf, that they are grieving and are coming to terms with this life-altering event.
They have indicated they do not wish to make any further comment at this stage.
They are receiving an overwhelming amount of contact from media, extended family and well-wishers; however they would like privacy at this difficult time.
Police is aware names and photos of those involved have been published by wider family.
We are obliged to adhere to formal processes in place with the Coroner around releasing the identities of those that have died.
Police will release this information when we are in a position to do so.
